Biography
Kennedy leads SSV’s global strategy, investments and investor relations. She serves as Board Director and/or Investment Lead to Caban Energy (storage), Pratexo (grid tech), Separa (removals), Prove AI (AI) and Voltiris (generation), and co-hosts The Smart Society Show covering energy markets, politics and innovation. . Kennedy also serves as Lead Independent Director for AI coaching platform TaskHuman.
Kennedy brings nearly 20 years experience across finance, technology and energy . She has worked in investment banking, private equity and venture capital throughout the US, Europe and Asia. Kennedy previously Co-Founded and led as CEO global enterprise software company Topia with SSV Partner Steve Black, where she led double digit global growth, raised $100M+ in venture capital funding and acquired two companies. Kennedy then ran for US Congress in California on an innovation and decarbonization platform.
Kennedy has been recognized with numerous awards including London Business School’s Distinguished Alumna Award, Management Today’s 35 Under 35 and the Women of the Future, Women in IT, Stevie Awards and CloudNOW Awards Entrepreneur of the Year honors. Kennedy holds a B.A. in History from Yale University, where she was a Division I and Ivy League championship gymnast, and an MBA from London Business School with a concentration in Entrepreneurial Management. She speaks English and French, and is a Swiss resident and dual UK and US citizen. She splits her time between SSV’s Swiss, London and New York bases often with her daughter Fiia and puppy Archie in tow!
Why Decarbonization:
She ran for US Congress in a district ravaged by escalating wildfires and polarization. She realized that innovation and capital are critical to solve decarbonization.
Fun Facts:
She loves running marathons, doing headstands, listening to jazz, going to the theater, reading fiction and designing interiors.
