Biography

Lang leverages more than 40 years of experience as an entrepreneur and investor in decarbonization, AI and analytical software throughout the world. Lang founded and led two Silicon Valley-based global software companies from inception through IPO on NASDAQ (Infinity and CAT-S) and has led numerous conservation and decarbonization initiatives throughout the Americas, including conserving more than 10,000 acres of land in Montana. He serves as Board Director or Investment Lead to AI supply chain company Greyscale AI, food waste reduction company Ryp Labs and oil and gas decarbonization company, Separa.  He has previously been an investor in Securant (exit to RSA Security), Cutthroat Communications (exit to Blackfoot Telecommunications), ConnectandSell and SnapLogic. Lang leads SSV’s global ecosystem and often helps portfolio companies expand to the US market, raise subsequent capital and develop their teams from his decades of entrepreneurial pattern matching.  Lang owned and led Sun Ranch in Montana for a decade, where he co-founded North America’s first eco-lodge and conservation beef company with the Nature Conservancy. Lang holds a B.A from Stanford University, where he endowed a professor chair in Environmental Anthropology.  Lang has worked and lived in the US, LatAm and EMEA.  He speaks English, French, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese fluently.

Lang became a renowned conservationist while living on his Montana ranch and has served on Boards from the Catalina Island Conservancy to the Bee Pollinators.

Fun Facts:

He paints oil paintings, studied anthropology, and loves European languages and history. Ask him about the Icelandic spirits company he founded while fly fishing in Iceland.
